To Comicdom Con Athens είναι το μοναδικό εγχώριο φεστιβάλ αποκλειστικά αφιερωμένο στα comics και την κουλτούρα τους, μια διοργάνωση της Μη Κερδοσκοπικής Εταιρείας Comicdom Press και της Ελληνοαμερικανικής Ένωσης.
Βασισμένο στα πρότυπα αντίστοιχων διεθνών διοργανώσεων, το τριήμερο Comicdom Con Athens διεξάγεται ανελλιπώς την Άνοιξη από το 2006, παρουσιάζοντας ένα πλούσιο πρόγραμμα που περιλαμβάνει:
- Διεθνείς προσκεκλημένους
- Εκθέσεις (σε συνεργασία με μουσεία και πολιτιστικούς φορείς του Εξωτερικού)
- Βazaar καταστημάτων και εκδοτικών οίκων
- Προβολές ταινιών animation και ντοκιμαντέρ
- Φιλανθρωπικό sketch event
- Workshops (για τις τεχνικές του σεναρίου και της εικονογράφησης)
- Ερασιτεχνικές (και μη) αυτοεκδόσεις
- Ανοιχτές Συζητήσεις (με τη συμμετοχή των διεθνών προσκεκλημένων μας, θεωρητικών της 9ης Τέχνης, δημοσιογράφων και επαγγελματιών του χώρου)
- Απονομή Βραβείων (Τα Comicdom Awards είναι τα μοναδικά βραβεία για τους Έλληνες δημιουργούς comics)
- Διαγωνισμό Cosplay (Ευφάνταστες μεταμφιέσεις ηρώων της pop κουλτούρας – ο διαγωνισμός αποτελεί από το 2013 προκριματικό για την Ελλάδα του πανευρωπαϊκού EuroCosplay)
- Παιδικό Πρόγραμμα (για την εξοικείωση των παιδιών με τα comics μέσω της αφήγησης και του δημιουργικού παιχνιδιού)
Παγκόσμια πρωτοτυπία του Comicdom Con Athens αποτελεί το γεγονός ότι όλοι οι συντελεστές της συν-διοργανώτριας Comicdom Press εργάζονται εξ ολοκλήρου εθελοντικά για την πραγματοποίησή του, καθώς και το γεγονός ότι αποτελεί τη μόνη εκδήλωση του είδους ανά τον κόσμο που έχει δωρεάν είσοδο σε όλες της εκδηλώσεις της.
Κάθε χρόνο, την εικονογράφηση του εξωφύλλου του καταλόγου φιλοτεχνεί, αποκλειστικά για την εκδήλωση, ένας από τους διεθνείς προσκεκλημένους μας, ενώ την επίσημη εικονογράφηση του φεστιβάλ επιμελείται ένας Έλληνας καλλιτέχνης του χώρου.
Παράλληλα οι επισκέπτες του φεστιβάλ λαμβάνουν εντελώς δωρεάν τον έγχρωμο, πολυσέλιδο κατάλογο με το πρόγραμμα και τα events του τριημέρου.
Αποδεικνύοντας ότι η αγάπη μας για τα comics δεν γνωρίζει καλλιτεχνικά ή γεωγραφικά σύνορα, το φεστιβάλ έχουν μέχρι στιγμής επισκεφτεί καταξιωμένοι και ανερχόμενοι δημιουργοί comics από την Ευρώπη και τις ΗΠΑ, όπως οι Milo Manara, David Lloyd, John Romita Jr., Bryan Talbot, Aleksandar Zograf, John Wagner, Chris Ware, David Prudhomme, Scott Lobdell, Μarv Wolfman, Mike Carey και Barry Kitson, μεταξύ πολλών άλλων.
Στην πιο πρόσφατη διοργάνωση του 2013, περισσότεροι από 11.000 επισκέπτες πέρασαν, κατά τη διάρκεια του τριημέρου, από το κεντρικό κτίριο της Ελληνοαμερικανικής Ένωσης, προκειμένου να συμμετάσχουν στα πολλαπλά events που φιλοξένησε και φέτος το φεστιβάλ.

Comicdom Con Athens is the only Greek festival that focuses exclusively on comics and their culture. It is organized by the non-profit organization Comicdom Press and the Hellenic American Union.
Following the standards set by similar international events, the three day Comicdom Con Athens festival is held annually every Spring, since 2006, and features a rich schedule that includes:
- International guests
- Exhibitions (in collaboration with international museums and cultural organizations)
- Retailers and publishers bazaar
- Screenings of live action, animation, and documentary films
- Charity sketch event
- Workshops (on scriptwriting and illustration techniques)
- Amateur and professional self-publishers
- Open discussions (with the participation of our international guests, 9th Art theoreticians, journalists, and comics professionals)
- Awards ceremony (the Comicdom Awards are the only awards for Greek comics creators)
- Cosplay competition (whimsical dressing up with characters from all aspects of popular culture – since 2013, our competition functions as the national qualifying round for European competition EuroCosplay)
- Kids program (to get kids acquainted with comics, through storytelling and creative games)
The most unconventional and wholly original aspect of Comicdom Con Athens is the fact that all members of co-organizers Comicdom Press work on a volunteer basis for the festival’s realization, and that it is the only convention of its kind, worldwide, that charges no admission fee for any of its events.
Every year, the festival’s catalogue cover is illustrated, exclusively for the event, by one of our international guests, while the official illustrations of the festival are done by acclaimed Greek comics creators.
The festival’s visitors receive a free, full color, multi-page catalogue that includes the program and details about everything that takes place in the three days of the event.
Proving that our love for comics knows no artistic of geographical borders, we have invited acclaimed and rising creators from both Europe and the USA, including Milo Manara, David Lloyd, John Romita Jr., Bryan Talbot, Aleksandar Zograf, John Wagner, Chris Ware, David Prudhomme, Scott Lobdell, Μarv Wolfman, Mike Carey and Barry Kitson, among many others.
Most recently, in 2013, more than 11.000 people visited the main building of the Hellenic American Union during the three days of the festival, in order to participate in the numerous events that were featured in this year’s schedule.
