Tο φεστιβάλ Ολύμπου, με έδρα την Κατερίνη Πιερίας, πραγματοποιείται στο αρχαίο θέατρο Δίου, στο κάστρο Πλαταμώνα, το κέντρο μεσογειακών ψηφιδωτών Δίου, την αρχαία Λεβίθα, την αρχαία Πυδνα και το βυζαντινό ναό παναγίας Κονταριώτισσας. Διεξάγεται στο διάστημα Ιουλίου – Αυγούστου.
Η ίδρυση του φεστιβάλ Ολύμπου προήρθε από την ανάγκη σύνδεσης της πλούσιας πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς της Πιερίας με την σύγχρονη καλλιτεχνική δημιουργία.. Τα τελευταία χρόνια καθιερώθηκε ο θεσμός της τιμωμένης χώρας ( Γαλλία, Ισπανία, Ρωσία) με στόχο την ανάδειξη του πολιτισμού άλλων χωρών και την δημιουργία συνθηκών πολιτιστικής και τουριστικής συνεργασίας. Επίσης ιδιαίτερη φροντίδα για τις ευπαθείς κοινωνικές ομάδες ( άνεργοι ,πολύτεκνοι, φοιτητές και παιδιά) με την καθιέρωση μειωμένου εισιτηρίου και την παρουσίαση παιδικού θεάτρου στο αρχαίο θέατρο Δίου.
Σύμφωνα με έρευνα που πραγματοποιήθηκε από τό ΤΕΙ Κατερίνης το κοινό αποτελείταιi στην πλειοψηφία του από θεατές ανώτερης και ανώτατης εκπαίδευσης.

The Olympus Festival
The Olympus Festival, with its headquarters in Pieria of Katerini, takes place in the Ancient Theater of Deus, in Platamonas Castle, In the Center of Mediterranean Mosaics of Deus, in ancient Livithra, in ancient Pydna and the Byzantine Church of Virgin-Mary Kontariotissa. It is carried out during July-August.
The establishment of the Olympus Festival derived from the need of association of the rich cultural heritage of Pieria with contemporary art. The last years, the institution of the “honored country” was established (France, Spain, Russia), aiming at promoting other countries’ cultures and creating the conditions for cultural and touristic cooperation. Moreover, special care for vulnerable social groups was accomplished (unemployed, people with many children, students and children) by establishing reduced tickets and by presenting children’s theater at the Ancient Theater of Deus.
According to a survey conducted by the Technical University of Katerini, the majority of the public come from the high and highest education.
