Στο πλαίσιο της υποψηφιότητας «Σύρος-Κυκλάδες 2021» για την ανάδειξη της Σύρου ως Πολιτιστική Πρωτεύουσα της Ευρώπης, θα πραγματοποιηθούν σε συνεργασία με το Ίδρυμα Βασίλη & Μαρίνας Θεοχαράκη και το Δήμου Σύρου-Ερμούπολης, δύο συναυλίες Θρησκευτικής Μουσικής υψηλών προδιαγραφών σε Αθήνα (2/4/15) και Σύρο (6/4/15) για τις άγιες ημέρες του Πάσχα. Οι συναυλίες αυτές θα αποτελέσουν την έναρξη των εκδηλώσεων της υποψηφιότητας «Σύρος-Κυκλάδες 2021», οι οποίες θα κορυφωθούν το καλοκαίρι και θα συνεχιστούν μέχρι τον Οκτώβριο οπότε και θα κατατεθεί η πρόταση της υποψηφιότητας για το σημαντικό αυτό Ευρωπαïκό θεσμό που αποτέλεσε πρωτοβουλία της Μελίνας Μερκούρη και ξεκίνησε το 1985.
Ο τετράφωνος Χορός του Ι.Ν. Αγίου Νικολάου θα ερμηνεύσει εκκλησιαστικά έργα του Ν. Μάντζαρου σε διεύθυνση του Γιάννη Αργυρίου, ενώ η Μαρίτα Παπαρίζου (Μεσόφωνος), η Γιούλη Βεντούρα (Τσέμπαλο) και η Susan Norton (Τσέλο) θα ερμηνεύσουν τα έργα του Antonio Vivaldi “Stabat Mater” (αρ. έργου RV 621) και “Nisi Dominus” (αρ. έργου RV 608, παρουσιάζεται σε πανελλήνια πρώτη), σε ειδική μουσική επιμέλεια και κριτική έκδοση του Ν. Βελισιώτη.

In the context of the candidacy of “Syros-Cyclades 2012” for the European Cultural Capital, the Foundation Vasilis & Marina Theoharaki and the Municipality of Syros-Hermoupolis, co-organize two concerts of Sacred Music in Athens (2/4/15) and in Syros (6/4/15) for the Eastern holy days. These concerts will mark the kickoff for the “Syros-Cyclades 2021” cultural events for the candidacy which will peak in the summer and go through October with the submission of the proposal of the European Cultural Capital.
The vocal quartet of the St Nicholas Orthodox Church will perform sacred music by N. Manzaros under the direction of Giannis Argiriou. Following, the mezzo-soprano Marita Paparizou, Giouli Ventoura (harpsichord) and Susan Norton (cello) will perform Antonio Vivaldi’s “Stabat Mater” (RV 621) and “Nisi Dominus” (RV 608, Greek premiere), in special musical edition by N.Velisiotis.

Δύο σημαντικοί συνθέτες, δύο αγαπημένοι τραγουδοποιοί ο Νίκος Ξυδάκης και ο Λουδοβίκος των Ανωγείων φέτος συνεργάζονται πρώτη φορά επί σκηνής.
Ο Νίκος Ξυδάκης και ο Λουδοβίκος των Ανωγείων συναντήθηκαν πρώτη φορά στις παραστάσεις του Σείριου του Μάνου Χατζιδάκι το 1986. Αργότερα θα συνυπάρξουν δισκογραφικά μαζί με τον Ψαραντώνη και τον Γιώργο Κουμεντάκη στο έργο «Τέσσερις δρόμοι για τον Ερωτόκριτο».
Σήμερα μία κοινή τους επιθυμία να παρουσιάσουν αυτό τους το μουσικό εγχείρημα πάνω στο μαγευτικό ποίημα του Βιτσέντζου Κορνάρου, τους φέρνει μαζί στη σκηνή.
Ο «Ερωτόκριτος» του Λουδοβίκου και του Νίκου Ξυδάκη αλλά και άλλα τραγούδια της μακρόχρονης πορείας τους συνθέτουν μία Ερωτική Μυθολογία και μας βυθίζουν στην ποιητική γλώσσα του τραγουδιού. Μαζί τους η Αλίκη Ζωγράφου στο τραγούδι

Two distinguished composers and dear singers, Nikos Xidakis and Loudovikos ton Anogeion collaborate for the first time on stage.
The two artists met for the first time during the performance of Seirios by Manos Hatzidakis in 1986. Later on, they both appeared in the same recording with Psarantonis and Giorgos Koumentakis for the work “Four roads to Erotokritos”. Today, their mutual musical interest in the magical poem by Vinzenzo Kornaro brings them together on stage.
“Erotokritos” and other songs by Loudovikos and Nikos Xydakis will communicate the poetic language of singing to their audience.

Οι κακότροπες, μισαλλόδοξες και σκληρές Θεές του Ολύμπου, ψάχνοντας πως να σκοτώσουν την πλήξη τους, μπερδεύουν και ανακατεύουν τις ζωές των θνητών, που πέφτουν θύματα των γήινων παθών τους και της μεγάλης κομπίνας των Θεών, προκαλώντας απίστευτο γέλιο στο κοινό.
Χρησιμοποιώντας για παγίδα την ομορφιά της Ωραίας Ελένης, οι Θεές κάνουν την Ελλάδα και την Τροία άνω-κάτω. Γιατί ένα πρωί υπάρχει μια Ελένη στην Τροία και μια επιπλέον στην Ελλάδα; Τελικά έγινε ο πόλεμος της Τροίας; Θα ξεμπερδέψουν τα πράγματα ή πάλι θα την πληρώσουν οι άπληστοι κι ευκολόπιστοι θνητοί; Και οι Θεές; Μήπως αυτές φταίνε για ό,τι μας συμβαίνει ακόμα; Ένα τραγούδι θα τα γιατρέψει όλα.

The Goddesses use the beauty of Helen of Troy as bait to cause chaos in Greece and Troja. Why are there two Helens, one in Greece and one in Troja? Was there a war in Troja after all? Will this mess settle or will mortals once more pay for their greediness and gullibility? What about the Goddesses? Are they responsible for everything happening to us still? A song will cure everything.

ΤEDX UNIVERSITY OF THE AEGEAN – “MOTIVACTION”
Motivaction. Είναι ένας σύνθετος όρος από τις λέξεις motive και action (κίνητρο και δράση). Σκοπός του συνεδρίου είναι να ορίσουμε τη λέξη “Motivaction” και να βρούμε απαντήσεις σε κάποια καίρια ερωτήματα:
Πώς η αιτία γίνεται κίνητρο και το κίνητρο δράση;
Τι είναι αυτό που μας κάνει να επιδιώκουμε τους στόχους μας;
Για ποιο λόγο κάποιοι άνθρωποι ξεχωρίζουν στο πώς βάζουν στόχους και πώς κινητοποιούνται γι αυτούς?
Υπό την αιγίδα του Πανεπιστημίου Αιγαίου, το TEDxUniversityoftheAegean δημιουργήθηκε για να μεταφέρει την εμπειρία του TED στην κοινότητα του Πανεπιστημίου Αιγαίου, τις Κυκλάδες και στα νησιά του Αιγαίου γενικότερα. Στόχος μας είναι να δημιουργήσουμε ένα περιβάλλον στο οποίο, άνθρωποι με συναρπαστικές ιδέες θα έχουν τη δυνατότητα να εμπνευστούν και να εμπνεύσουν άλλους.
Το TEDxUniversityoftheAegean θα προσπαθήσει να αποδείξει ότι ανάλογες πρωτοβουλίες μπορούν να πραγματοποιηθούν εφόσον υπάρχουν άνθρωποι που τις στηρίζουν και πιστεύουν σε αυτές, πέρα από τυχόν περιορισμούς μιας τοπικής κοινωνίας και των πόρων που αυτή μπορεί να διαθέσει.
Η οργάνωση υλοποιείται κατά κύριο λόγο από φοιτητές του Τμήματος Μηχανικών Σχεδίασης Προϊόντων και Συστημάτων με τη σημαντική συμμετοχή των υπολοίπων τμημάτων του Πανεπιστημίου Αιγαίου. Ιδιαίτερα σημαντική είναι και η συμβολή των τοπικών φορέων κι επιχειρήσεων σε μια προσπάθεια ανάδειξης της Σύρου και των δυνατοτήτων της μέσα από την εκδήλωση.
Το TEDxUniversityoftheAegean θα φιλοξενήσει στη σκηνή του τουλάχιστον 12 ομιλητές, από την Ελλάδα και τον κόσμο. Είναι άνθρωποι που κατάφεραν να ξεχωρίσουν μέσα από τις πράξεις τους κι όχι τα λόγια τους, άνθρωποι που μπορούν να αποτελέσουν πρότυπα για όλους μας, εντός κι εκτός Ελλάδας
Οι ομιλητές προέρχονται από διαφορετικά πεδία, είναι καλλιτέχνες, επιστήμονες, άνθρωποι με ιδέες κι εμπειρίες που μας παρουσιάσουν θέματα κοινωνικού ενδιαφέροντος, τεχνολογίας, ψυχολογίας design, επιχειρηματικότητας και όχι μόνο. Τα ονόματα τους θα ανακοινωθούν σύντομα.
Το TEDxUniversityoftheAegean θα πραγματοποιηθεί στο θέατρο “Απόλλων” της Ερμούπολης, ένα αρχιτεκτονικό κόσμημα του 19ου αιώνα με πλούσια ιστορία, που το 2014 συμπλήρωσε 150 χρόνια ζωής. Τον ίδιο χρόνο, το 2014, έγιναν και εργασίες εκσυγχρονισμού του εξοπλισμού του ενώ πολύ σημαντική είναι η συνεργασία του θεάτρου με την υπηρεσία ΔΙΑΥΛΟΣ του Εθνικού Δικτύου Έρευνας και Τεχνολογίας (ΕΔΕΤ) για τη ζωντανή διαδικτυακή αναμετάδοση των εκδηλώσεών του με υψηλές ταχύτητες (live streaming) καθιστώντας το ως το πρώτο περιφερειακό θέατρο με τέτοια δράση.
Το TED είναι μια μη κερδοσκοπική οργάνωση αφιερωμένη στη διάδοση ιδεών που εμπνέουν τους ανθρώπους. Το TED ξεκίνησε το 1984 ως ένα συνέδριο με κεντρικό άξονα την Τεχνολογία, την Ψυχαγωγία και το Design. Σήμερα καλύπτει πλέον όλα τα πεδία – από την επιστήμη και την τέχνη, μέχρι την επιχειρηματικότητα και τα παγκόσμια ζητήματα
Οι ομιλίες βιντεοσκοπούνται και διατίθενται δωρεάν στην ιστοσελίδα του TED ώστε να μπορεί να τις δει οποιοσδήποτε από οποιοδήποτε μέρος του κόσμου. Motivaction is the composition of two words, motive and action and the goal of our
event is to define this composition and answer to some important questions about
motives, causes, action, motivation.
How does a cause become motive and the motive becomes action?
What is it that makes us pursue our goals?
For what reason some people distinguish themselves from the others in the
manner they face their life and how do they put it to good use?
TEDxUniversityoftheAegean was created in order to carry the experience of TED in the community of the University of the Aegean the Cyclades and the Aegean islands in general. Our goal is to create an environment where people with exciting ideas will have the opportunity to inspire and to be inspired by others.
TEDxUniversityoftheAegean will try to prove that similar initiatives can be realized as long as there are people supporting and believing in them, despite any eventual limitations of the local societies and the available resources.
The organizing team of the TEDxUniversityoftheAegean is mainly consisted of students from the Department of Systems and Products Design Engineering with the important contribution of the other departments of the University and the collaboration of local businesses in an effort to highlight the island’s potential through the event.
12 speakers will participate to TEDxUniversityoftheAegean, from Greece and other countries. They are people who managed to stand out through their actions and not their words, people that can become role models for others in and out of Greece.
Our speakers come from different backgrounds, like artists, scientists and others, coming to speak about subjects of great interest on social life, technology, psychology, design and entrepreneurship among others.
TEDxUniversityoftheAegean will not stay at the very interesting talks but it will also feature live performances from talented musicians and dancers. The final program will soon be announced.

TEDxUniversityoftheAegean will be held at the “Apollo” theater, an architectural landmark built in the 19th century in Hermoupolis the capital of the island of Syros. Also known as “La Piccola Scala”, the theater celebrated 150 years (in 2014) of life passing onto a new ear of development, aspiring to modernization. Among the undertaken initiatives is the collaboration of the theater with the “DIAVLOS” live streaming service of the Greek Research and Technology Network (www.grnet.gr) for the live streaming of the events presented in the theater in high speeds making Apollon the first theater outside Athens having this possibility.
